This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how SeniorCarefully (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares “Consumer Health Data” as defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act (MHMDA). This policy applies to Washington residents and individuals whose health data is collected in Washington.
1. Categories of Consumer Health Data We Collect
As a facilitator for senior care placements, we collect data you provide during the senior assessment, scheduling, and enrollment process. This includes:
- Health Conditions and Diagnoses: Information regarding physical or mental health status, chronic conditions, or disabilities.
- Bodily Functions and Vital Signs: Information related to mobility, respiratory needs, or daily living assistance requirements.
- Medical Interventions: Information about past or current treatments, surgeries, or health-related procedures.
- Prescribed Medications: Information about the use or purchase of medication.
- Seeking Health Care Services: Data that identifies your attempt to seek senior care services, including facility tour requests and assessment uploads.
- Inferred Health Data: Any health information derived or extrapolated from non-health information provided during your interactions with our platform.
2. Sources of Consumer Health Data
We collect your data directly from you or your authorized representatives (such as family members or legal guardians) when you:
- Fill out our Senior Assessment forms.
- Upload medical documents or existing assessments.
- Schedule tours or request quotes through our platform.
3. Purpose of Collection and Use
We collect and use your Consumer Health Data only as necessary to provide the services you have requested, specifically:
- To facilitate the sharing of senior care assessments with Adult Family Homes (AFHs) to obtain quotes.
- To coordinate tours, Google Meets, and admissions with care providers.
- To manage enrollment and first-month rent payments for care services.
Note: We do not use your health data for marketing or advertising purposes without your separate, explicit consent.
4. Sharing of Consumer Health Data
We share your data only with your explicit consent or as strictly necessary to provide our facilitation services. Categories of recipients include:
- Adult Family Home (AFH) Providers: We share your assessment with specific homes you select or those capable of providing the care described in your preferences.
- Service Processors: Third-party vendors who provide technical infrastructure (such as secure cloud storage or encrypted messaging). These processors are contractually bound to protect your data and only use it for the purposes we specify.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or protect the safety of our users.
5. Your Rights Under MHMDA
Washington consumers have the following rights regarding their health data:
- Right to Access: You may confirm if we are processing your health data and request a list of all third parties/affiliates with whom we have shared your data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for us to collect or share your health data at any time.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your health data. If you make this request, we will delete the data from our records and notify all third parties with whom we shared it to do the same.
